Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
We have been importing from the Alps of Europe since 2003
What is your primary product or service?
Nativity and figurines carver from alpine maple. Bavarian pewter ornaments (Schweizer and Kuehn).
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My father flew the Berlin Airlift and I have traveled to the Alps since I was a boy. I re-learned my German and now spend time every year finding new handcrafts in the Alps.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We buy direct from European families so our prices are very competitive as we have cut out the middle-man.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have a showroom in St. Louis and an online website. However, in St. Louis we refer our nativity customers to O'Byrnes and Catholic Supply of St. Louis as we are the USA representative of the PEMA Woodcarving family.
