How long have you been in business?
About 18 years. Originated in Lithuania where the family owns and operates a wood mill. Then the family immigrated to Chicago and set up a warehouse, sales and distribution. Andrew Slizius is the President and local born Tom Lichon is the Sales Manager.
What is your primary product or service?
Our primary product consists of outdoor accessary buildings such as garden sheds, storage sheds, tool sheds, pool cabanas, free standing room additions, small and large cabins, all in a high quality, all wood kit assembly. There are ten main items that compromise the shed category and are available for shipping throughout the United States. Easy to build kits are crated and warehoused throughout the United States.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As Sales and Marketing Manager, my interest in SOLID BUILD came about after leaving a competitors employment. I found the quality difference and kit format to exceed that of any other shed company. The limited selection we offer provides an easy decision process for the customer. Our all natural wood components provide the customer with the curb appeal and satisfaction from the appearance of wood throughout the structure.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are in a category of our own because we use all aged Norway spruce as our raw material. All components are manufactured in our own mill. We are considered a "green and ecological product". Every tree we harvest provides material for two shed kits. We plant two trees for every one that we cut down. Most other shed companies have components such as; Oriented strand board, wafer board, chip board with veneer and basically wood by products that use harmful glues to make that material. We are all natural!
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are an internet based company working out of our virtual offices. We rent warehouse space in three strategic locations throughout the United States mainland. This allows for a lower retail price to our customers. We do welcome the opportunity to provide dealerships to family owned garden centers throughout the United States.

There is no physical address for customers to see our products. Our company website provides numerous pictures of our products from customers who purchased them. We have a colorful web catalogue with all the details necessary to make an educated decision in purchasing our kits. We do welcome inquiries from family owned garden centers who could become our dealers.
