The World Affairs Council of St. Louis is a 501c3 non-profit, non-partisan membership organization that sponsors programs to increase St. Louis community awareness and understanding of international people, cultures and businesses. It is one of over eighty such independent Councils in the country that collectively comprise the oldest and largest organization in the country dedicated to promoting �citizen diplomacy� and improving global understanding.

Since 1948, the World Affairs Council of St. Louis has operated continuously and has distinguished itself by the number of Ambassadors (both to and from the United States) and other prominent speakers it has brought to St. Louis. The Council sponsors about eighteen programs, or more per year, considered to be of exceptional quality and that vary widely in subject matter, venues utilized, and price. All Council funding is derived from membership dues, corporate sponsorships, program fees, fund raising events, grants, and gifts.

The St. Louis chapter has run continuously since 1948.

What is your primary product or service?
We serve to spread cultural awareness and understanding to fellow members of the St. Louis Community. We do so by hosting events throughout the year for both World Affairs Council members and members of the community such as:

�Ambassador Forums
�Interactive, Topical Programs
�U. S. State Department Videoconferences
�Chinese New Year Celebration
�Governor of Missouri�s �State of the State�
�Academic WorldQuest
�Foreign Policy Association's Great Decisions Series
�Outreach progams to schools

From Hwy 70 E:

�Exit at 10th Street; follow the natural bend RIGHT and continue down 10th Street.
�At Olive Street, turn LEFT.
�The World Affairs Council's office is located in the Old Post Office building that spans the block between 8th and 9th Street on the LEFT/NORTH side of Olive.

From 70/55 W/N:

�Take exit ramp between the Hwy 55 and Hwy 70 onramps marked "Downtown."
�At Market Street, turn LEFT.
�At 11th Street, turn RIGHT.
�At Olive Street, turn RIGHT.

From Hwy 40/64 W:

�Exit at 9th Street toward Stadium/Tucker Blvd.
�Turn LEFT onto Market Street.
�Turn RIGHT onto 11th Street.
�Turn RIGHT onto Olive Street.

Hwy 64/40 E:

�Exit at 11th Street. This is a LEFT LANE EXIT.
�11th Street is split at the intersection at Market Street. In order to stay on 11th Street, turn RIGHT at Market and then make an IMMEDIATE LEFT back onto 11th Street.
�Turn right onto Olive Street.
